Greenland_surge_inventory_WGS84 contains points for each glacier in the surge inventory. Greenland_surge_inventory_polys contains polygons for all glaciers in the surge inventory that have an Randolph Glacier Inventory (RGI) polygon. Lovell and others_Greenland surge-type glacier inventory.xlsx is an excel file of the inventory attribute data.

Methodological Information:

The inventory was compiled through a review of the literature and identification of surge-type glaciers based on analysis of satellite images and multi-temporal digital elevation models (DEMs).

Datasets were checked by multiple analysts.


16. Any specific information required to interpret/use use the data e.g. specific instrumentation/software information.
Greenland_surge_inventory_WGS84 and Greenland_surge_inventory_polys are GIS (geographical information system) files that require GIS software.
