This file outlines the structure of the Kevo Subarctic Research Station snow survey data files. Most years a snow survey is performed manually by staff/students at 60-65 logger (climate monitoring) sites around Kevo subarctic field station. The snow depth is measured using a stick at the site and at fixed distances away from the logger location. The exact distances and number of observations depended on the year and resources/time available. All measurements are in cm. In some years snow density was also measured. Surveys started in March 2008 and then continued most years, in the late winter/early spring. Peak snow depth is usually achieved in this location at the end of March. There was no survey in winter/spring 2021. Note in 2012 five extra sites were added and so the site numbers and order of rows (in alpabetical order) changes. Data for 2014-2016 are currently missing.
